I never planned to be a stay-at-home mom. I always imagined the transition back to work would be difficult, but ultimately what I wanted. My overwhelming desire to be home with my daughter surprised me, and was something I couldn’t reconcile with my plans to return to the classroom as a music teacher or with my family’s financial needs.
